ServisFirst Bank Announces Expansion in Georgia

Five Veteran Bankers Join the Columbus Leadership Team

Columbus, GA -

ServisFirst Bank, a subsidiary of ServisFirst Bancshares (NASDAQ:SFBS), announces its expansion into Columbus, Georgia with the opening of a new loan production office on September 14, 2020. The new office is located at 6400 Bradley Park Drive, Suite A-4, Columbus, GA 31904.

The Columbus leadership team consists of five seasoned, veteran bankers including Ron Smith and Thomas Forsberg serving as Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking Officers. Also joining the team leadership is Jack Tinkler as Vice President, Commercial Banking Officer, Matt Hussey as Vice President, Commercial Banking Officer, and Roni Jernigan as Commercial Account Manager.

Ron Smith, Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking Officer

Ron Smith will serve the Columbus office as Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking Officer. He joined ServisFirst Bank in 2017 as a Senior Vice President. Since then he has led the effort to expand the Bank’s presence in the Columbus and Phenix City, Alabama market. Ron has been a banker in the market since graduating college, and prior to joining ServisFirst Bank, Ron was the Market President for Regions Bank in Southwest Georgia.

Throughout Ron’s career, he has given his time to numerous local boards and committees including serving as Chairman of the Phenix City Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Board at Glenwood School. Ron graduated from Columbus State University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Art in Finance.

Thomas Forsberg, Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking Officer

Thomas Forsberg is a Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking Officer for ServisFirst Bank. He has 20 years of commercial banking experience serving across all of Georgia.

In addition to his banking career, Thomas serves on the Columbus Airport Commission as current Treasurer and former Chair of the Commission. He is an honoree of the University of Georgia’s 40 Under 40 and has served as President of the Columbus Chapter of the University of Georgia’s Alumni Association. He is a graduate of Leadership Columbus and has served the boards of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and Historic Columbus Foundation. Thomas received a Bachelor of Art in Finance from the University of Georgia in 2000 and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia in 2010.

Jack Tinkler, Vice President, Commercial Banking Officer

Jack Tinkler, serving as Vice President, Commercial Banking Officer, focuses on providing tailored and in-depth solutions to businesses across various industries. With over 15 years of experience, Jack utilizes the business acumen he has gained from a career in banking, coupled with the resources ServisFirst Bank provides, to add value above and beyond the traditional banker and client relationship; he takes pride in going the extra mile for his clients.

Born and raised in the Chattahoochee Valley Region, Jack also prioritizes giving back to his community through efforts such as fundraising ambassador for the United Way Foundation, volunteering for projects with The House of Heroes, and numerous other activities with local charities/non-profits within the area. Jack is a graduate of Columbus State University in Columbus, GA, earning a Bachelor of Art in Business Management, while also helping win two Peach Belt Conference Championships as member of the men’s basketball team.

Matt Hussey, Vice President, Commercial Banking Officer

Matt Hussey will serve as Vice President, Commercial Banking Officer for ServisFirst Bank. He has dedicated the past twenty years servicing the banking needs of clients in the Columbus, GA market. Through three different banking institutions, he has 17 years of commercial banking experience in managing portfolios ranging from $75 million to $250 million.

Matt sits on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of the Chattahoochee Valley and is a member of the downtown Rotary Club of Columbus. Matt received a Bachelor of Science in Financial Management from Clemson University where he graduated with Honors.

Roni Jernigan, Commercial Account Manager

Roni Jernigan has joined ServisFirst Bank as the Commercial Account Manager. Roni is a lifelong resident of the Valley Region and has worked in banking for over 30 years. Prior to joining ServisFirst Bank, she spent 15 years at Regions Bank. Roni provides a high level of expertise in managing the customer experience in facilitating loan closings as well as taking pride in providing a high level of customer service.
